2014 Wedding Trends
In the thick of engagement season, we are beginning to prepare for all of our 2014 weddings and we cannot wait! This year we are expecting some pretty spectacular wedding trends and our event managers are excited to raise the bar.
So what do we think 2014 has in store for the world of weddings? Read on.
1. Color Trends – Gold is in.
Like it or hate it, gold and metallic color palettes are taking off at special events. From gold invitations and menu cards to gold plates, silverware and favors, and even sparkling gold cakes, it seems like weddings are destined to be completely dazzling.

2. Décor Trends – Fantastic Bars and Stations
Light up bars have been popular at events for quite a while now, but we anticipate 2014 weddings to take it one step further. BizBash shows off some truly amazing bars that we think are only the beginning in this trend:

3. Floral Trends – Vegetables and Succulents
Edible centerpieces? Not exactly.
It may sound somewhat wacky, but we are seeing it more and more. Our favorites include artichokes, pomegranates, gourds and radishes. Here are some photographs of our 2013 event centerpieces and florals. We can’t wait to see more of this in 2014!

2. Food Trends – Spice it Up!
One thing we are seeing across the board: Couples are not afraid to add a little spice to their menu, whether it be in an hors d’oeuvre such as our Margarita Shrimp with Jalapeño Lime Sorbet, or an entree with a little kick. These days, wedding receptions are so diverse and interesting and our foodie brides and grooms want their menus to reflect that. Conservative guests can easily steer clear of those items that are a little too hot to handle.
Here’s a few of our favorites!
1. More Food Trends
You didn’t think we could limit it to just five, did you! There is so much going on in the world of weddings and we can’t stop chatting about it. Of course, first thing on our mind is food, food, food. Our Chef and talented event managers have been working with 2014 brides and grooms on some of the most incredible menus.
Most notable trends this year:
- Make it interactive – People are looking to have a good time at weddings. With interactive food and stations, your guests definitely won’t get bored.
- Trendy stations – from omelet and baked potato bars to popcorn bars and s’mores stations, we are cranking it up, displaying food in a fun new way.
- Take it to go – Give your guests something to remember with party favors and desserts to go. Our top recommendations – hot chocolate in personalized to-go cups and brownie lollipops to snack on at the after party!
- Bring back some American favorites – reinvent the classics with cheeseburger sliders, bacon-wrapped everything, funnel cake and more.
- Stay local – we’ve been saying it for years, so it’s not exactly a 2014 trend, but eating locally and sustainably is a trend that we hope is here to stay.

Reviews
Catering By Seasons exceeded my expectation. I used them for a brunch at my house after my son’s bar mitzvah. The level of professionalism along with their responsiveness made me feel at ease right away.
Everything about working with Catering by Seasons, from the planning, communication, to the execution was phenomenal!
I can’t say enough great things about our entire experience planning our daughter's Bat Mitzvah with Glynis Keith, Catering Manager, with Catering by Seasons.
