Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler 4 Mardi Gras Party Ideas Fit for a King

With spring just around the corner, we’re ready to “laissez les bon temps rouler” (French for “let the good times roll”!) and we hope you are too.  So grab some beads and check out these great Mardi Gras party ideas that are fit for a king!

1. Host a Creole Feast

Nothing says Mardi Gras like Cajun food.  Think Po’ Boys, Gumbo, Étouffée, and Okra.  Andouille sausage, Cajun seasonings, shrimp, and other seafood are all New Orleans favorites, so be sure to include them in your Mardi Gras party menu!
Not ready to try making a New Orleans favorite on your own?  Check out Chef Kyle’s fantastic Étouffée on our website.

2. Beads… lots of beads!

Colorful beads are a Mardi Gras tradition.  While they are mainly used to throw out and are worn by almost everyone walking down Bourbon Street, they can also be used as a fun decoration like this centerpiece!  Check out the steps by step directions to make your own here.

3. Beignets

You don’t have to be at Café du Monde to enjoy beignets this Mardi Gras.  Martha Stewart has a great recipe that you can try to master at home.  Knock it up a notch and have a Beignet Bar for your guests.  Offer beignets with fun toppings like chocolate and caramel sauce, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and sprinkles (purple, gold, and green ones if you can find them)!

4. Turn your party into a masquerade!

Dressing up in costume and wearing masks has been a Mari Gras tradition around the world for centuries.  Encourage guests to dress up and wear masks to your party.  You can even offer a prize for the most elaborate mask!  This is a fun way to get everyone involved with the festivities.

Catering By Seasons exceeded my expectation. I used them for a brunch at my house after my son’s bar mitzvah. The level of professionalism along with their responsiveness made me feel at ease right away.

Everything about working with Catering by Seasons, from the planning, communication, to the execution was phenomenal!

I can’t say enough great things about our entire experience planning our daughter's Bat Mitzvah with Glynis Keith, Catering Manager, with Catering by Seasons.
