Did you know that at President Lincoln’s Cottage, you can enjoy a seated dinner in the very room that Lincoln penned the Emancipation Proclamation? President Lincoln’s Cottage is arguably the most historically significant property that is available as an events venue in Washington DC.

In June of 1862, Abraham Lincoln and his family moved their possessions from the White House to a thirty-four room “cottage” on the hilltop grounds of the Soldiers’ Home in rural Washington, DC.  The Lincolns lived here during his presidency – in the summer and fall of 1862, 1863, and 1864. It was during his first year in residence that he drafted and issued the Emancipation Proclamation. Lincoln’s first visit to the Cottage was a few days after his inauguration, and his last was the day before his assassination. The Cottage opened to the public for the first time in 2008. Designated by a Presidential order, it is officially the only National Monument in Washington DC.

I can’t say enough great things about our entire experience planning our daughter's Bat Mitzvah with Glynis Keith, Catering Manager, with Catering by Seasons.

The food, of course, was a highlight. Several attendees went out of their way to mention that it was the best they’ve ever had at a corporate event. Your ability to deliver this high-quality experience with such ease made a lasting impression, and we truly appreciate the effort and care that went into making everything perfect. Thank you again for making our event such a success.

Catering By Seasons exceeded my expectation. I used them for a brunch at my house after my son’s bar mitzvah. The level of professionalism along with their responsiveness made me feel at ease right away.
